This module reviews the different types of radiation safety surveys, the frequencies of surveys, and survey techniques that are part of a typical radiation safety program. This training is intended for radiation workers to provide an overview of the types of radiation surveys that may be conducted at your facility. It will review regulatory requirements for conducting surveys, when surveys are required, where to meter for contamination, the difference between fixed and removable contamination, and the importance of labeling contaminated equipment.
1 hour is awarded on the certificate for this training based on anticipated time to complete all training modules and review all relevant reference material. Depending on a student's familiarization with the topics and reference material, this time to complete the course may vary, but will not change the number of hours awarded.
